THE CONNECTION WORKFLOW

Your workspace.
Your authorized Oracle access.

Use SQL Hop Desktop for trial and paid querying. Use the website for account, billing and organization administration. Each Oracle instance needs an authorized reporting setup.

01

Prepare the Oracle instance

An authorized Oracle administrator installs the QueryRunner report and data model and grants appropriate catalog and data access. The app’s instance setup page provides the installation resources.

02

Configure the environment

Your organization administrator sets the instance URL and report paths. Users choose from the instances available to their organization.

03

Connect with your own authorization

App login and Oracle authentication are separate. Direct report authentication must be tested against your environment; Oracle browser SSO cookies are not reused by this website.

04

Write, run and inspect

Download the installer for your computer and sign in online to register one computer to your user/seat. Desktop sends SQL directly to the configured BI Publisher report, using your authorized Oracle connection. Results are processed locally.

05

Save work and export results

Save SQL and editable designer state on your computer, then export CSV or Excel. Background exports run locally while Desktop and Oracle remain connected; temporary completed files expire after 24 hours. Optionally remember Oracle credentials with operating-system encryption. Account validation runs at startup and daily, with bounded outage authorization.

YOUR NEXT STEP
